Reversible hot/cold rolling

Reversible hot /cold rolling

Experimental reversible rolling mill can deliver up to 6 000 kN of rolling force and 200 kNm of torque. It provides sufficient power to handle alloys with a high deformation resistance like nickel-base superalloys or maraging steels, both at the elevated or the room temperature.

The rolling mill can accommodate either two-high, or four-high cassettes for the hot and the cold rolling respectively.

The unique feature of the rolling mill is a capability to employ AGC system for flexible rolling to fabricate tailor-made sheets with pre-defined longitudinal profile, both in the form of strip coils and the flat sheets. All relevant data from the milling process are recorded providing useful backbone for material engineers and technologists.
